*1950 Ford 2-Door Custom*The 1950s and 1960s was the golden age of hot rodding in the United States - with an ever increasing supply of great V8 engines and performance part manufacturers springing up all over it was hard for anyone who liked cars to not be taken with the scene. Then in the 1980s and 1990s there was a massive resurgence as those same people that had been building custom cars in their 20s found themselves at middle-age with the disposable income to build the cars they had always wanted growing up. This 1950 Ford 2-Door Custom is a perfect example of that - a car that was retains a classic 50s hot rod style with some 1990s touches.Built by Jim Stutz in Portland OR this Ford Custom was completed in 1989 and is said to have been driven less than 1 000 miles since its completion. The first thing that draws your attention is obviously the two-tone pink paint with a lighter pink making up the majority of the car and a deep fuschia contrasting on the rear wheel spats. But the more you look at this car the more you realize how much of the body has been gently massaged to make a truly one of a kind vehicle. During the build all of the handles on the doors and trunk were shaved along with the rain gutters and both the license plate and radio antenna have been frenched in. In front sits a 1953 Corvette Grille and both the hood and trunk are louvered and feature custom pinstriping by Paul Mackie. The interior is equally as custom with the dashboard steering column and door toppers painted to match the exterior and the seats and door cards are wrapped in white tuck-and-roll upholstery that gives a very period look. Slide into the drivers seat and you are met by a white rimmed steering wheel with 3-spokes and a dice theme on the column shifter window cranks radio controls and turn signal lever. The dashboard features more of the custom pin-striping as well as a full suite of white-on-black gauges that features a speedometer tachometer and 6 additional auxiliary gauges.Under the hood sits one of the pinnacle engines of 1950s hot rodding -a Ford flathead V8. This example is finished to a very high level with a trio of Stromberg carburetors on top with polished trumpets that are painted pink on the inside to match the exterior of the car. The valve covers are highly polished and are also finished in pink between the cooling fins. This engine sends power through a 3-speed column shift manual gearbox that was subject to a rebuild and new clutch in 2023 and shifts great. The suspension is lowered on a manual airbag setup which allows you to adjust the ride height using a tank in the rear and the car rolls on a set of steel wheels with Studebaker hubcaps and whitewall tires that were replaced in 2023.Since 1991 this car has been under the care of a single family and thanks to a host of recent maintenance work is ready to be enjoyed and shown. This is the perfect vehicle to take to your local cruise night or a great base to add some of your own touches without having to start a hot rod project from scratch.*Key Features* * Built by Jim Stutz in 1989 * Portland OR * Flathead V8 * Triple Stromberg Carbs * Chrome and Color-Matched Accents * 3-Speed Column Shift Manual * Rebuilt and New Clutch in 2023 * Extensive Custom Body Work * Hood/Trunk Louvers * Shaved Door Handles/Rain Gutters * Frenched Antenna/License Plate * Custom Rear Lights * Unique Pinstriping by Paul Mackie*Additional Information* * Some DocumentationFor more information on this stunning 1950 Ford 2-Door Custom or any of our 100+ High-Performance Exotic and Special Interest cars always in stock contact one of our friendly and knowledgeable sales consultants or always feel free to drop by our 40 000+ sq ft of Indoor Showrooms in Bellevue WA - Home of an Exciting Inventory of Luxury Exotic High Performance and Collectible Automobiles.
