*2003 Superformance Daytona Coupe*The Shelby Cobra is without a doubt one of the most famous sports cars in American history. Although most people think of the Cobra as an open top roadster the highest performing Cobra variant is the closed Daytona Coupe. Designed to take on the Ferrari 250 GTO in Europe Shelby only built 6 of these stunning cars. Thankfully in more recent years companies like Superformance have developed faithful recreations of these stunning cars that allow those of us who cant afford an original an opportunity to drive these stunning cars. This 2003 Superformance Daytona Coupe is a beautiful example finished in Guardsman Blue and has been driven just 10 894 miles since its completion. The beautiful Guardsman Blue paint is complemented by white LeMans stripes and period correct sponsor decals on the sides. White ceramic coated side-exhausts are fitted which match the white-painted Halibrand knock off wheels. Originally penned by talented young designer Pete Brock the flat Kamm tail on the Daytona Coupe increased top speed to more than 190 mph - or a nearly 30 mph bump over the standard Cobra. This made all the difference when it came to beating Ferrari at LeMans on the long Mulsanne straight. The interior is wrapped in black leather with a pair of Sparco bucket seats that are fitted with racing harnesses. The dashboard is simply laid out with Stewart Warner gauges situated behind the steering wheel and in the center of the dashboard. Unlike on an original Daytona Coupe this car is fitted with cold R134 air conditioning which is an extremely desirable feature when youre enjoying the car on a warm day. Additionally a classic-looking Becker stereo head unit is fitted with modern connectivity that allows you to enjoy music and have navigation instructions as well.Powering this Daytona Coupe is a Roush-built 402ci V8 that produces 375 wheel horsepower and 434 lb-ft of torque. Breathing through a 4bbl Holley carburetor this engine sounds outstanding and built for reliable power. Power is sent though a Tremec T56 6-speed manual gearbox to the rear wheels. The chassis is a round tube space frame with dual A-arms and coil overs at all 4 corners. Braking is taken care of by dual piston calipers at all 4 corners and feature a vacuum booster. All Cobras feel pretty fast but this car is the whole package. It has lots of speed the classic uncorked high revving Ford V8 noise and fantastic handling which make it a truly wonderful car to pilot.Buying a real Daytona Coupe would likely cost deep in the 8-figures if one ever came up for sale. For a small fraction of that price you can experience what its like to drive one of Americas most legendary race cars - and still have air conditioning. Superformance is known for building some of the best Cobra recreations and this Daytona coupe definitely lives up to that expectation.*Key Features* * Custom Built Tubular Spaceframe Chassis * Roush 402ci V8 * 375 Wheel Horsepower * 434 Lb-Ft of Torque * 4BBL Holley Carburetor * 6-Speed Tremec T56 Gearbox * 2-Piston Brakes at 4-Corners * Ceramic Coated Headers and Side Exhaust * 18-Inch Halibrand-Style Wheels * Sparco Seats w/4-Point Harnesses * R134A Air Conditioning * Modern Stereo System * Stewart Warner Gauges * Woodward Steering RackFor more information on this stunning Superformance Daytona Coupe or any of our 100+ High-Performance Exotic and Special Interest cars always in stock contact one of our friendly and knowledgeable sales consultants or always feel free to drop by our 40 000+ sq ft of Indoor Showrooms in Bellevue WA - Home of an Exciting Inventory of Luxury Exotic High Performance and Collectible Automobiles.
