Originally known internally as Project Eagle, the Lotus Evora was announced in 2008 as the first all-new platform since the Elise in 1995. A high-performance version called the Evora S was launched in 2010, with the even more powerful Evora 400 coming along in 2015. The 400 used an Edelbrock intercooled supercharger to raise the hp figures of the 3.5 L 2GR V6 engine to 400 hp, hence the 400 nomenclature. 0-60 mph times are quoted as being 4.1 seconds, 0.5 seconds than the previous Evora S. The engine could either be mated to a 6-speed Aisin AI manual transmission or a 6-speed Aisin AI IPS automatic transmission.

The 400 also received a new body kit design that added another 51 lb (23 kg) of downforce, a driver-activated exhaust system to allow for a rowdier sound, and the interior was revised with narrower sills for easier entry and exit, a new dashboard design and a new center-console design. From 2009 to 2021, only 6,117 examples of the Evora were produced.

The Evora was a step in a new direction for Lotus, with improvements in both design and performance that made it more useful and accessible. The interior was larger than its predecessors in an effort to better accommodate taller drivers and thus appeal to a larger portion of the market, including that of the Porsche 911. It was also the only mid-engine coupe to be offered in a 2+2 configuration, something only the BMW i8 had matched.

This particular example, Chassis # SCCLMDVN9HHA20162, was delivered to Orlando Infiniti of Orlando, FL in November of 2016 and was sold in March of 2017 to its first owner as a Solid Red car with contrasting tan/black leather interior and the 6-speed Aisin AI IPS automatic transmission. This Lotus came from the factory with numerous accessories and options, including a black grille, body-colored accents and bumpers, an aluminum shift knob, Bilstein shock absorbers, and Eibach coil springs. The one record on file during the initial ownership was at Mercedes-Benz of Melbourne, FL, in June of 2017, with 1,445 miles on the odometer. It was sold at auction in July of that same year with 1,555 miles on the odometer to someone based in Arkansas.

In December of 2018, the engine, transmission, interior, and electrical system were checked at Brentwood, NJ with 6,066 miles. In March of 2020, it was offered for sale at Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Princeton, NJ, and was reported as sold in June of the same year. It was serviced at the selling dealer one last time on July 2nd before heading to its new owner in Pennsylvania.

In August of 2020, the third owner was reported on the CarFax along with a 7,377-mile odometer reading. They went on to enjoy and maintain their Lotus until August of 2023, when we acquired it from them on consignment. We entrusted Zeigler Exotic Cars in Phoenixville, PA, with an inspection, Lotus-spec oil change, CB5 Carbon Fighter, and BG44k Fuel Treatment.

As it sits, this is a like-new Evora with the more powerful 400 hp engine, numerous options and accessories, and showing just 10,030 miles from new. The recent service on the record further ensures that this British beauty is ready to rip and roar down the pavement in the same way its ancestors have for decades. Upon purchase, the new owner will receive the original key, the original owners booklets, the service records on file, and the purchase paperwork from the Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Princeton, NJ.
