The 1937 Lincoln Model K 363-B Convertible Sedan by LeBaron featured here is finished in stunning Ebony Black over a wonderful, highly original red leather interior. This particular example is one of 37 built new, is one of only a handful known to exist today and was previously a Classic Car Club of America (CCCA) Best Original award winner. Given this extreme rarity and provenance, it is no surprise that this Lincoln later spent time on display at the National Automobile Museum in Nevada. Today, this incredibly rare pre-war Lincoln displays fewer than 26,000 believed-to-be actual miles and presents wonderfully with the charm and patina that would be expected from a highly original, eighty year old motorcar! We are incredibly proud to offer this exceptionally rare and desirable 1937 Lincoln Model K Convertible Sedan by LeBaron to the most astute collector or investor who appreciates originality and rare pre-war coach built classics! Classic cars have proven to be among the most resilient and rewarding investments in recent years with the Historic Automobile Group Index (HAGI) jumping 39% in 2013, 16% in 2014 and 17% in 2015 while posting gains of 467% over the last 10 years. HISTORY OF THE MODEL K 363 For 1937, Lincoln revised the Model K with several stylish enhancements including further incorporation of the headlight shape into the fenders; a rare feature on a pre-war American automobile. Power was derived by the incredibly smooth flathead 414ci V12 that generated 150hp at 3400 rpm which was mated to a 3-speed floor shifted transmission. Lincoln offered a total of 18 different body styles for 1937. Chassis options included either a 136 wheelbase chassis or the 145 wheelbase chassis, both of which proved to be an excellent platform for a number of coachbuilders including Willoughby, Brunn & Company and LeBaron. LeBaron would offer the exceptionally styled model 363 Convertible Sedan with four doors for easy entry and a full folding convertible top. This incredibly stately automobile was only available only to the affluent, costing around $5,500 when new, which is comparable to nearly $100,000 today!
