New to our Fairfield showroom is this simply gorgeous 1950 Mercury Lead Sled 2 Door Convertible with sensational Sea Foam Green exterior paint, endless chrome, a highly custom tan leather interior and a removable Carson top. Youll find a 350 cid V-8 crate engine under the hood with numerous chrome Flaming 50 mods, a custom radiator with electric fans and a Turbo 350 automatic transmission. This classic is also custom-equipped with an old school, under-dash A/C unit, power steering, power front disc brakes, power windows/locks, a great Sony sound system, keyless entry, Weld wheels and far too much more to list.

This 1950 Mercury Lead Sled Convertible was professionally restored in 2001 in Hudson, Florida and it has remained in a private collection since 2008. The multi-year restoration included chopping the roofline 4 and fully customizing this classic from the ground up. Just the chrome work itself took over 140 hours of fabrication, polishing and etching, while the body required hundreds of additional hours to shape from raw sheet medal and than paint to perfection. Then theres the custom leather work throughout the interior, a hand-made front grille, custom bumpers, the embossed trunkthe list goes on and on with spectacular customizations.

Additionally, this 1950 Mercury Lead Sled Convertible was featured in an Autorama TV documentary show and has won several prestigious awards throughout the Southeast, including best in show at the St. Petersburg Car & Truck Show. It appears in excellent condition today after being driven less than 8,000 miles over the past two decades, but this pristine classic is certainly much more than just a show car.
