One of a handful of known examples of the EMW 327 Cabriolet produced in the early postwar era by the Eisenach Motoren-Werke which took over BMWs largest manufacturing plant after if fell to East Germany in 1945. EMW simply picked up where BMW left off producing vehicles that were virtually identical in design and specification built with all the same tooling as the pre-war machines. Eventually BMW cried foul and some concessions were made to differentiate the two marques but just 505 EMW cars were produced before the factory was handed over to Wartburg.This rare 327 Cabriolet is undoubtedly one of the prettiest EMW models of all and is virtually indistinguishable from its Western counterpart. This example benefits from an extensive high-quality restoration documented with hundreds of photos and is beautifully presented in two-tone blue over blue leather trim. It is powered by post-war BS1-specification Bristol 2-liter six believed to be delivered to Wacky Arnolt in the 1950s.
