In 1953 Ford redesigned the F-Series trucks with a more integrated look. They also renamed it with the F-1 becoming the F-100 and they upgraded the interiors with a dome light, a lighter, arm rests, sun visors and a radio. This particular example was converted to a street rod about 5 years ago and is a blast to drive. The heart of this bad boy is a supercharged, fuel-injected, 302 ci crate engine estimated to put out 600HP. Both the supercharger and the Edlebrock 70mm throttle body sit atop Edelbrock intakes and work seamlessly with the Ford Racing ignition to bring this beast to life. It has a set of Mac shorty headers that sound just plain nasty ripping through its 2.5 performance exhaust. The power is put to the 8.8 Ford posi rear end via a Tremec 5 speed manual transmission that shifts clean and crisply. It has 4 wheel power disc brakes, power steering, it has been lowered and sits atop a set of 15 red rims with chrome trim rings and whitewall tires. The matte black paint job is adorned with red flames that perfectly accent the rims. The flames are taped on so they could be painted or removed if you desire. The interior is basic with a clean bench seat, a newer steering wheel and a/c. The a/c is functioning but no vents are hooked up, just two ducts coming out of both foot wells. The door panels and headliner are painted cardboard and the driver door handle is missing. The interior would be more of a rat rod but you can determine if you prefer to call it a street rod or a rat rod. The truck has only been driven about 2,000 miles since built so the driveline is like new. Close to $25,000 was spent to bring this truck to its current state and that did not include the cost of the original truck. We have priced this truck very aggressively so if like what you see dont wait until its too late to call!
