Check out this rare, outstanding condition, rust free, restored 1980 Saab classic 99 built to EMS Specifications with a 5 speed manual transmission! By 1980, the EMS designation no longer was used for any 99 variant and it marked the last year of the importation for the 99, as the 900 had become its replacement. This professional restoration, by Reinertson Motors, an exclusive Saab dealer in N.J., represented what the EMS could have been for 1980. This car is a Finnish example, and was fitted with a 5-speed transmission and Citrin beige paint to provide it with an exclusive color, as was characteristic of the EMS. Introduced in 1972, the EMS (Electronic [fuel injection] Manual [transmission] Special was a sportier model that was originally only available in a two-door version. It had a stiffer suspension and was sold in unique colors. The new Swedish-built engine fitted to this car had 1985cc displacement giving 108 hp) and a top speed of 170 km/h. Other features included a front air dam, unique alloy wheels and a tachometer. Our EMS is fitted with genunine MINILITE alloy wheels. - AM/FM, Cloth Interior Surface - Contact Rich Kushner at 717-426-2202 x101 or Rich@Swedishmotors.com for more information. -
