1992 Porsche 964 Carrera RS VIN: WP0ZZZ96ZNS491742 9,317 miles since new (14,995 kilometers), 2 owners Showroom condition, concours quality inside and out Approximately 345 pounds lighter than a stock 964 Carrera 2 Completed Canepa Difference mechanical inspection and concours detail Ordered by Mizwa Porsche Distributors in Tokyo, Japan 3.6-liter flat six engine, 5-speed manual transmission Porsche has made a name for their special edition lightweight cars beginning with the Carrera RS moniker that made its first debut in 1973. The RS designation would return in 1992 with the 964, with Porsche releasing their creation to the European market: the 964 Carrera RS. Based on the 964 Carrera Cup race car, it featured an upgraded engine, 345 pounds removed from the stock car, along with short-ratio gearing, a limited slip differential, revised suspension and a lightweight interior. This excellent Porsche 964 Carrera RS was special ordered new in January of 1992 by the exclusive Porsche distributor of Japan, the Mitsuwa Corporation in Toyko (Mizwa). The order requested a standard German domestic market model in left-hand drive configuration with the exterior color in Polar Silver Metallic, and a standard interior in grey/black with black carpeting. This Porsche was completed and invoiced new on May 7th, 1992. It was delivered by ocean-freight shortly after to the Port of Yokohama, Japan. This RS cleaned Japanese customs in an exempt status as a production left-hand drive vehicle and was sold new and registered for the road in September of 1992. Over the next 25 years, this Carrera RS covered just 9,155 miles (14,735 kilometers). During the RSs time in Japan the car was meticulously care for and serviced as witnessed in its current immaculate, showroom-level condition. In 2017 the RS was imported to North America and subsequently purchased by Canepa. When the car arrived and initial inspections revealed that the car was as immaculate as described, Canepa went to work to sympathetically service and detail the lightweight 911. The Canepa Difference consisted of a full mechanical inspection then moving onto a complete concours-level detail. The underside of the car was cleaned until the factory finishes were revealed, all in immaculate condition. It was then treated to a full paint polishing using only foam pads, giving the Polar Silver Metallic a shine that mirrors a new car. Once completed, the car was then sold to its second owner at 9,314 miles (14,991 kilometers). Now returning to Canepa, this immaculate Porsche 964 Carrera RS has added less than 4 miles since it left and remains in its pristine and immaculate condition. With its showroom-quality condition, low mileage and one of the most sought-after 964 models on earth, this 1992 Porsche 964 Carrera RS is ready for long drives, short drives, any everything in between. About the 964 Carrera RS In 1992, Porsche produced a super-lightweight, rear-wheel-drive only version of the 964 dubbed Carrera RS for the European market. It was based on Porsches 911 Carrera Cup race car and harked back to the 2.7 and 3.0 RS and RSR models. It featured a revised version of the standard engine, titled M64/03 internally, with an increased power output of 260 bhp (194 kW; 264 PS) and lightweight flywheel coupled to the G50/10 transmission with closer ratios, asymmetrical Limited Slip Differential and steel syncromesh. It had a track-oriented suspension system with a 40 mm (1.6 in) lower ride height, stiffer springs, shocks and adjustable stabilizer bars without power steering. A stripped-out interior was devoid of power windows or seats, rear seats, air conditioning, cruise control, sound deadening or a stereo system (optionally fitted) and new racing-bucket front seats were part of the package. The trunk hood was made of aluminum, the chassis was seam welded and sound deadening was deleted. Wheels were made of magnesium and the glass was thinner in the
