Arguably the ultimate 1970s and 1980s status symbol of wealth and success, the Rolls-Royce Corniche was a car sought after by many but one only the fortunate few could afford. Designed and intended to be enjoyed by their lucky owners in warm-weather climates, each Corniche took four months to be hand built, with two weeks spent on the convertible top alone. With a list price of over $200,000, each car utilized only the finest materials Britain had to offer, including Wilton wool carpeting, Connolly leather, and carefully selected burl walnut veneer. First introduced in 1971, the Corniche remained in production for nearly 25 years and over this time, these cars were periodically updated to keep them both modern and relevant. The Corniche II, the models first major revision, was introduced in 1977 and included new rack-and-pinion steering, alloy and rubber bumpers which replaced the earlier chrome bumpers, along with an oil cooler, aluminum radiator, and bi-level air conditioning system. The spectacular 1993 Rolls-Royce Corniche IV Convertible featured here is finished in the one of one color combination of Artic White over a white Connolly leather interior with maroon piping, Wilton wool carpeting and magnificent veneered burr walnut throughout with a white everflex power folding convertible top. This particular example was sold new in September 1993 by Max of Switzerland (the authorized Rolls-Royce dealer in Scottsdale, Arizona) and has been meticulously maintained since new. Today the Corniche IV presents in spectacular condition while only just over 21,000 miles have accrued on the odometer since leaving the factory. Recently in November 2019 an extensive $11,000 service was performed by a respected exotic car specialist in Palm Springs, California ensuring that this classic Rolls-Royce performs as well as it presents. As one would expect with such a low mileage and meticulously maintained example, an extensive amount of documentation accompanies the Corniche IV today including the original books, business card from the selling dealer, original tools, recent service invoices, the original window sticker and more! This is simply the best example to be found on the market today and we are sure that this documented, low mileage and recently serviced limited production motorcar will surely bring many years of enjoyment to its future caretaker.
