*2006 Rolls Royce Phantom*Rolls Royce has always been a manufacturer whose name is synonymous with quality and luxury and the Phantom line has always sat above the rest as the ultimate no expense spared automobile. Starting production of the Phantom 1 in 1925 the model line has been in and out of production for nearly 100 years and has evolved through 8 iterations during that time. When the Phantom VII debuted in 2003 it was perhaps the largest departure from the lineage yet but the design principles stayed the same-with quality and luxury being the paramount focus. In light of this they have equipped the Phantom with a Twin-Turbocharged 6.8-liter V12 putting out over 450 horsepower which is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission which provides plenty of motivation-even for a car weighing more than 5 500lbs.Although the exterior is particularly striking the interior is always where Rolls Royce has put their primary focus. Supple black leather coats nearly every interior surface-the leather only comes from select ranches with a particular climate and each hide is hand selected and turned away for any number of small issues to insure flawless quality. The interior wood is also specially selected and each piece has been polished to a mirror like finish-this example features Black Tulip Veneer which matches the black leather very nicely. On the back of the two front seats are a pair of fold out picnic tables to be used by the passengers in the rear-these too are matching wood and prove remarkably useful for getting some work done while being chauffeured around. When the doors are opened a Rolls Royce umbrella is situated within the door and at the touch of a button is released- even the umbrellas on the car are special- having been Tefloncoated to help them dry out faster when they are placed back in their holders. It is clear that when Rolls Royce designed the Phantom they spared no expense with making every aspect special.
