Well-documented, Concours Quality, Low Production Porsches are getting harder to find, and this 930 Turbo has all of the most desirable features in place. In the day, many believed the 1989 930 Turbos to be the last of a special breed of brutally fast and aggressive-looking Porsches with no follow-up model to replace them. Because of the G50 gearbox, the 1989 is widely considered the best of the 930s. The roots of the Slantnose design can be traced back to Porsches dominant motorsport endeavors in the 1970s. The aerodynamic benefits of a sloping front end, inspired by the 935, were evident on the track. This design reduced drag and improved high-speed stability, making it an attractive proposition for performance-oriented road cars. Starting in 1982, the late Rolf Sprengers Special Wishes/Exclusive Department at Porsche executed Slantnose conversions to mimic the aggressive appearance of the brands 935 racers. Originally introduced as a special-order option from 1982 to 1985, the distinctive slant nose design set it apart as a symbol of speed and luxury. It wasnt until 1986 that this model became a production car in the United States, marking a significant shift in Porsches strategy to cater to the American markets growing demand for high-performance sports cars.
